Sister Thomas Aquinas and Sister Amata Veritas are both Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, who work closely with the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, a Catholic diocese with Anglican traditions for North America, as part of their Houston-based apostolate.
According to the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Sr. Thomas Aquinas is leading the exploration of a high school for the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham (which plans say should complement the cathedral's Holy House Academy) while Sr. Amata Veritas works in development support services for the Ordinariate's chancery.
Both sisters took time on the Lumen Ecclesiae Digital platform to share their apostolate work for the Ordinariate, their experience of what the Anglican tradition looks like in the Catholic Church, and their love for the Ordinariate's evangelizing mission.
The episode "Anglican and Catholic" originally aired on March 6, 2020 just as the pandemic started to really spread in the U.S. But now, with the close of the Ordinariates' 10th anniversary year of their founding with Benedict XVI's apostolic constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus, the sisters testimony is once again making the rounds on social media.
The Dominican Sisters begin the discussion in earnest about the Ordinariate approximately at the 11m30s mark. The episode is a real treasure to share with those who want to know more about the Ordinariate, and the Anglican tradition alive and growing in the Catholic Church.
