With the North American demand for the Daily Office vastly exceeding publisher expectations, the U.K.-based Catholic Truth Society is now inviting people to register their interest in new print runs of the Ordinariates' Divine Worship liturgical books and the forthcoming “Commonwealth edition” of Divine Worship: Daily Office.
CTS is looking for people to register their interest in new editions of the following: the Ordinariate’s Divine Worship: the Missal; Divine Worship: Occasional Services [this is for Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, etc.], the CTS Divine Worship: Sunday Missal, and the Divine Worship: Daily Office (Commonwealth edition) due by summer 2021.
CTS is the publisher of the Commonwealth edition of Divine Worship: Daily Office, which is authorized for the Ordinariates of Our Lady of Walsingham (based in the United Kingdom) and the Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross (based in Australia and Pacific Rim countries). [Yes, Canada is part of the Commonwealth, but no, this edition is not for the Ordinariate in Canada. If that ever changes, the ACS will certainly let you know as soon as we find out]. But it seems that CTS has learned a valuable insight about the real demand for the Ordinariate's books from the rollout of the North American edition of the Daily Office.
Newman House Press’s first print run of the North American edition of Divine Worship: Daily Office, according to ACS sources, consisted of 500 copies that quickly went dry in pre-publication orders from the U.S. and Canadian Ordinariate parish communities. NHP commissioned a second print run to satisfy the incoming demand for pre-publication orders from Ordinariate parish communities. Once those are met, the Office will be available for order from Amazon and direct from NHP (which is ideal for making purchases in bulk).
One happy fault to Newman House Press’s second print run, it is that CTS appears to be taking measures to make sure it accurately estimates the real demand for the forthcoming Commonwealth Edition of the Daily Office. And it is now trying to better gauge what the demand is for a new printing of the existing Divine Worship liturgical books.
